1925: J. Vair chooses to embark on opening his own jewellery store after working with Calgary Jeweller D.E. Black for over a decade. The store opened at 108, 8th Ave S.W.
1936: Weathering the depression by focusing on watch repairs, J. Vair welcomes his sons, Gordon and Les as apprentices in the business.
1945: Upon completing their tours of duty in WWII, Les chose to pursue a career as a pilot while Gordon joins the family business.
1972: Gordon’s son Ken became the next generation to enter the family business. The three generations worked along side each other at their new store 810, 1st Ave S.W.
